Charles “Chuck” Remenius, age 85, of Merrillville, IN passed away on Wednesday December 30, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; son, Charles K. (Karen) Remenius of Crown Point, IN; 2 grandsons, Ryan (Dee) Remenius and Jeffery (Jennifer) Remenius both of Crown Point, IN; 2 great grandchildren, Alyssa and Lucas Remenius; brother, Ernie (Fran) Remenius of Monticello, IN; sister, Violet Adinolfi of Hobart, IN and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Anna Remenius; sister Anna Baker; 3 brothers, Joseph, John and August Remenius.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 10:00 AM directly at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5885 Harrison St., Merrillville, IN with Rev. Roy Beeching officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
Friends may visit with the family at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday morning DIRECTLY at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM. A wake service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Remenius retired from U.S. Steel Gary Sheet & Tin Mill and was a member of USW Local #1066. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and belonged to the American Legion Post 270. Chuck was also a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, where he ushered the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass for many years.
