James R. Barnes, age 55, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point, IN.
He is survived by his wife: Deborah (Swift); 5 children: Laurie Coffing, Brandie Hamilton, Jim Waters, Amanda Barnes, and Emily Barnes; 6 grandchildren: Jon, Jordyn, Blake, Novel, Alyssa, and Nathan; mother: Barbara Barnes; sister: Lana (Delmer) Vannatter; brother: John (Tina) Barnes; many nieces and nephews and numerous loving family members.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 4:00 to
5:30 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 5:30 PM with Chaplain Robert Rawlins officiating at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre (NOTE: NEW LOCATION-2 blocks east of Broadway) at 606 E 113th Ave. Crown Point, IN.
James was born on January 15, 1955 and raised in Hammond, IN where he attended Hammond Tech. He was a Bricklayer with Local 6 and was owner and operator of Area Waterproofing working in Chicago, IL in masonry restoration. James was involved with his work and was a talented and dedicated handyman who built his own home. James enjoyed snow skiing and loved being with his family.
