Bernice N. Liss (nee Brooks), age 92, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at St. Anthony Nursing Home Hospice in Crown Point, IN.
She is survived by her children: Larry (Carolyn) Liss of Florida, Sue Ellen (James Garibbo) Liss of Oregon, Tom (Kathy) Liss of Crown Point, IN, and Jim (Lisa) Liss of Oregon; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and special friends, Lou and Peg O'Drobinak.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Raymond and brother: George Brooks.
Funeral prayers will be said on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:15 AM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre (NOTE: NEW LOCATION-2 blocks east of Broadway) at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St., Crown Point, IN, with Fr. Dennet Jung officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 2:00 to
5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre.
Mrs. Liss was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point and belonged to the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of PSI IOTA XI Sorority and was a longtime member of Youche Country Club. Bernice along with her husband, Raymond, owned and operated Liss Body Shop in Crown Point for over 40 years.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or The Crown Point Community Foundation, 213 S. Court St., Crown Point, IN 46307.
