Dwane "Jack" Carden, age 79, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point, IN.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia of 54 years; 2 children: Michael (Cindy) Carden of Dyer, IN and Kim (Mark Miller) Fox of Lafayette, IN; 2 grandchildren: William (Elise VanBuskirk) Wirtz and Heather (John Dessauer) Bennett; cousins: Donald and Dick Theis.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Ruby Kranz; grandmother: Edna Banser; infant son: Cris Carden and aunt and uncle: Lillian and Nick Theis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 352 S. Main St., Crown Point, IN with Pastor Tom Shanahan officiating. Interment at Maplewood Memorial Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Masonic service at 7:30 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre (NOTE: NEW LOCATION-2 blocks east of Broadway) at 606 E 113th Ave. Crown Point, IN and at First United Methodist Church on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.

Mr. Carden was a member of First United Methodist Church in Crown Point and was retired from AT & T with over 43 years of service. Jack belonged to Lake Lodge No. 157 F. & A.M. Crown Point, Orak Shrine, an Army veteran and member of the American Legion Fred Schmidt Post #20 in Crown Point, the Crown Point Jaycees, Southlake County Shrine Club, Royal Order of Jesters and the Crown Point Volunteer Fire Department. Jack was a Crown Point councilman for many years and was an avid golfer.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point, IN or to Shriners Children's Hospital.
