Judith E. Janda (nee Traeger), age 69, of Winfield/Crown Point, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Chicagoland Christian Village in Crown Point, IN.
She is survived by her husband: Jerry of 48 years; 2 sons: Jerry (Ann) Janda of Hebron, IN and Jim (Tami) Janda of Crown Point; 4 grandchildren: Josh, Jessica, J.T., and Kyle; 1 brother: James Traeger; 1 sister: Betsy Cristaudo, and special family friend: Jeannie Ilievski.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James and Evelyn Traeger.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre (NOTE: NEW LOCATION-2 blocks east of Broadway) at 606 E 113th Ave. Crown Point, IN, with Fr. Joseph Murphy officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home with cremation to follow.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 26, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre in Crown Point, IN.
Mrs. Janda attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Winfield, IN. She was a former supervisor at A.T.T., breakfast manager at McDonalds in Merrillville, IN, and most recently managed The Bagel Basket in Crown Point and Bagels & Beans in Winfield. Judith was a 1958 graduate of Horace Mann High School and was an avid Cubs fan and gardener.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Research Center.
